The work

The kind of jobs Kieran takes on.

Redwire doesn’t publish a service list, because what Kieran takes on is best described by the kind of clients who keep calling him back. This is the work people actually hire him for.

01 — Renovations

Residential renovations

From a kitchen rewire to a whole-house gut and rebuild, Kieran has been doing the electrical side of Auckland renovations for over twenty years. Architects and designers tend to flag him in early so the lighting and circuitry are designed in rather than bolted on after the fact.

The renovation clients on his books include people who’ve come back through two or three projects across a decade or more — the kind of working relationship where you don’t need to re-explain the house each time.

02 — Lighting

Lighting plans & design

One of the things Kieran is repeatedly singled out for in client reviews is detailed lighting work — planned properly, fitted properly, and thought through alongside the room rather than dropped in after it. Future-proofed wiring and current technology, without being a salesman about either.

If the project is at the lighting-plan stage, the earlier the conversation the better. Decisions made on the wall framing are a lot easier to live with than ones made after the plasterboard is up.

03 — Fit-outs

Full fit-outs

New builds, additions, and full electrical fit-outs from rough-in through to certification. Kieran takes the project from cable plans to switched-on and signed-off, working in alongside builders, joiners, plasterers and the rest of the trades on site without needing to be managed.

04 — Commercial

Commercial & specialised work

Two photography studios with their own particular electrical requirements. A small handful of commercial fit-outs. The kind of jobs that need somebody who’ll listen to the brief, understand what the space is for, and get the wiring out of the way of the work that’ll happen in it.

If you run a studio, a workshop, a small commercial space — the conversation tends to start with what you’re trying to do and end with a clean install that supports it.

05 — Maintenance

Building maintenance contracts

Kieran handles the ongoing electrical maintenance for an eighteen-unit apartment complex in Kingsland, where the building manager has him on speed dial. The pattern is the same as it is everywhere else: he turns up when he says he will, communicates clearly, and the things that need to get fixed get fixed without anyone having to chase.

For body corporates and building managers looking for an electrician they don’t have to manage, that’s the offer.

06 — Small jobs

Small jobs and one-offs

One light. One switch. One outlet that’s been bothering you for a year. The same Kieran who handles the eighteen-unit complex and the studio fit-out also handles the small list at your house, with the same care and the same approach. Sometimes the small list turns into a longer conversation about how the rest of the place could work better. Often it doesn’t. Either way is fine.
